The city of Madaba includes many historical and archaeological landmarks, such as:

– St. George’s Church: Home to the famous Madaba Mosaic Map, which dates back to the 6th century AD and is considered the oldest map of the Holy Land.
– Mount Nebo: A sacred site believed to be where Prophet Moses stood to see the Promised Land before his passing, offering breathtaking panoramic views.
– Madaba Archaeological Park: Showcases a collection of well-preserved Byzantine and Islamic mosaics, along with remains of ancient churches and historical structures.
_Jordan River: Religious Significance:
The Jordan River is one of the most sacred rivers in the world, as there are many references to the Jordan River in the sacred texts of Judaism and Christianity. The waters of the Jordan River are considered holy by all Christian denominations, as Christ was baptized in its waters.It is a river in the Levant and one of the most important shared Arab rivers in the Middle East. Its length is about 251 km, and its plain extends for about 360 km. It is formed by the confluence of three tributaries: the Banias River coming from Syria, the Liddan River coming from northern Palestine, and the Hasbani River coming from Lebanon, which together form the Upper Jordan River.

_The Archaeological Museum and the Folk Museum:
The Madaba Folk Life Museum and the Archaeological Museum form an integrated unit. The museum was established in 1987 within heritage homes featuring original mosaic floors dating back to the 6th century AD. The museum is equipped with halls that contain a collection of artifacts from various sites in the city of Madaba, in addition to a collection of mosaics, traditional clothing, jewelry, and adornments representing many Jordanian cities.

_Al-Maghtas:
Al-Maghtas is an archaeological site located in the Wadi al-Kharrar in the village of Bethany beyond the Jordan, 9 kilometers north of the Dead Sea. Due to its religious and historical significance, it was included by the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO on the World Heritage List in 2015. In this article, we will learn more about Al-Maghtas and its religious and historical importance.
The Bible mentions that Al-Maghtas is the place where Christ came to Saint John to be baptized. From this place, he began his religious ministry and gathered his first disciples, including Andrew, Peter, and Philip. The old walls dating back to the 1st century AD, engraved with crosses by the early pilgrims who stopped here on their way from Jerusalem to Mount Nebo, still remain.

– The King’s Highway: One of the oldest historical routes, once a major trade road in ancient times, passing through many important archaeological sites.

1_Participants must review our company (Al-Maqsad for Tourism, Travel, Hajj, and Umrah) to inquire about available trips and coordinate with us to choose the program that suits them.
3. The latest time for canceling a reservation is 24 hours before the scheduled trip departure.
4. Participants must adhere to attending the designated departure station at the scheduled time for the trip.
5. The participant will receive a full refund if the trip is canceled 72 hours before the scheduled departure.
6. The participant will receive half the amount if the trip is canceled 24 hours before the scheduled departure.
7. The participant forfeits their right to claim any amounts paid if they violate the program’s instructions.
