Karak Archaeological Museum (Karak Castle)

_The museum, which was inaugurated in 2019, is located in one of the Ottoman-era buildings opposite the castle. The building consists of three rooms, corridors, and large halls, housing display cabinets containing various artifacts from different eras, arranged according to historical chronology. There is also a 3D model of the ancient city of Karak and its walls.

_The Southern Mazar
The Southern Mazar district in the Karak Governorate contains the tombs of three companions who were martyred in the Battle of Mu’tah, which took place in the month of Jumada al-Awwal in the 8th year of the Hijra (629 AD).

The companions are Zayd ibn Harithah, Ja’far ibn Abi Talib, and Abdullah ibn Rawahah. They were leaders of the Muslim army appointed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to lead a force of three thousand fighters against the Romans. The Prophet appointed three commanders in succession: first, Zayd ibn Harithah; if he were killed, then Ja’far ibn Abi Talib; and if he were killed, then Abdullah ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with them all).

Karak is an ancient Crusader fortress, located 900 meters above sea level, nestled within the walls of the old city. Today, the city is home to approximately 170,000 people and contains a significant number of restored Ottoman-era sites dating back to the 19th century, including buildings, restaurants, lodging, and more. However, Karak Castle remains its most important and prominent landmark!

Karak Castle :
is a dark maze of rock tunnels and endless corridors. The well-preserved sections of the castle are located underground, accessible through a large door (inquire about it when purchasing your ticket). The castle has a grandeur that almost overshadows its beauty, yet its architectural brilliance reflects the genius of the Crusader armies of that time.

You can stroll along the front western wall’s terraces and admire the breathtaking view, but be cautious while doing so. On clear days, you can see the Dead Sea all the way to Mount of Olives at the outskirts of Bethlehem.

Castle Courtyard:
Visitors can pass through the castle courtyard located outside, where beautiful 19th-century Ottoman buildings rise. These were originally used for administrative purposes and have been redesigned to become a tourist center, featuring a restaurant, a handicrafts center, and other facilities around the central square.

1.Participants must review our company (Al-Maqsad for Tourism, Travel, Hajj, and Umrah) to inquire about available trips and coordinate with us to choose the program that suits them.
3. The latest time for canceling a reservation is 24 hours before the scheduled trip departure.
4. Participants must adhere to attending the designated departure station at the scheduled time for the trip.
5. The participant will receive a full refund if the trip is canceled 72 hours before the scheduled departure.
6. The participant will receive half the amount if the trip is canceled 24 hours before the scheduled departure.
7. The participant forfeits their right to claim any amounts paid if they violate the program’s instructions.
